Step into a world of winter magic where stories come alive through expression, movement, and imagination.

Limited participants: 10
Facilitators: Ebony R. Gooden and Thurga Kanagasekarampillai
Location: 625 11th ave (SECOND FLOOR, suite #210)
Funded by The Canadian Race Relations Foundation, in partnership with Inside Out Theatre, Silent Soul Studio & Deaf Heart Theatre Collective
The Winter Wish Project offers a welcoming, language-flexible space for Deaf and hard of hearing youth to discover the joy of creative expression.
Over two days, participants explore visual storytelling, character movement, and ensemble play while imagining and performing stories inspired by their own winter “wishes.”
The workshop encourages collaboration and self-expression using a range of communication modes including gesture, mime, drawing, and sign language; depending on each participant’s comfort level.
Led by Deaf artists and supported by interpreters and facilitators, this pilot edition will culminate in a short informal sharing for families and friends.
The project celebrates inclusion, creativity, and community connection, and serves as a foundation for future Deaf youth theatre programming at Inside Out Theatre and Silent Soul Studio.
